I was bored one day and decided to play around with my class photo on a program called Jack Paint Shop Pro. I used almost all of the effects I could find. Here are the results:

It’s Been a While

First of all, I’d like to say that it has been a very long time since I  wrote a blog post. We have been busy working on the ITL Project that we didn’t really have  time to write a blog post. Mind you, we still are working on our ITL Projects and I can’t wait until we see the final results.

 The Snow is Melting

Anyways, it has been a nice spring break here. The snow is actually melting!! We have been through a harsh winter this year, so it’s nice that the snow is melting for that reason. It’s also nice because last year, my brother and I bought a trampoline and had a fun time jumping on it last year, so I can’t wait to set it up and jump on it again.

 Back to School

Now that spring break is just about over, it’s time to go to school…again. But, school has been fun lately because we are working on the video part of the ITL Project. It has been taking some time in school, so thats a plus. Also, it gives you a break from writing things down all the time.

 My Spring Break

Well, my spring break hasn’t been all that fun. I basically stayed inside the whole time. I guess I was a bit lazy. The only thing that was different than any other day was that I got a hair cut. No big deal. But, things are going to get better, since I don’t feel as lazy anymore .

Conclusion

As I said before, we had a good spring break here in Snow Lake. Well, I guess all good things must come to an end.

Introduction

Every year, our school has a Valentines Day dance in the gym. Sometimes, the dances are really fun. At other times, they can get pretty boring. This dance, however, was probably one of the best dances I’ve ever been too.

Why?

This has probably been the best dance because I was more outgoing than I usually am, and I had fun doing that. Also, I wasn’t alone. I was dancing with Ashley and Kate the whole time except at the beginning of the dance.

The Beginning

At the beginning of most dances at our school, people just stand around talking. I think this is mainly because there are few people there. Also, it could be that the music at the beginning of our dances aren’t that great to dance to. I’m not sure yet, but I’ll figure it out soon!

Later on, people start dancing their butts off!!

The Fun Part

When students dance at dances, they dance hard! Almost everybody dances. I remember when I just sat against the wall the whole dance. Now, I’m a dancing machine :lol:. I must warn you though, I’m not very good at it. Anyways, I haven’t even gotten to my favourite part of the dance!

The Slow Dance

Yes, I really enjoy the slow dance. One reason is because since it’s slow, I get to rest my feet for a little bit. Also, it’s often the girls that ask me to dance, so that gives me a little bit of encouragement, because I am very shy. After the last slow dance, unfortunately, the dance ends.

The Sad Part

After the last slow dance, everybody exits the gym, puts on their winter gear (if needed) and leaves. That’s basically it.

Conclusion

I had a really good time at this Valentines Day dance. I hope you learned a lot about our dances at our school!

Introduction

Living in a small town, there isn’t much to do. Luckily, I go curling. I really enjoy curling. I am also joining archery. I really enjoy archery too, since I went in it last year. These things are so much fun that I’m going to tell you my experience of playing these sports.

Curling

The Basics

Curling is a sport of skill and teamwork. The object of the sport is to get as many of your coloured rocks into the house and closest to the button.

There are twelve ends in curling. When each round ends, the team with the most rocks closest to the button gets points for however many rocks are closest to the button. The game ends when the twelfth end is played. The team with the most points wins.

The game is played in two teams of four. Each person plays two rocks in each end. Each person has a certain roll to play.

Lead- The Lead is the first person on the team to throw the rocks.

Second- The Second is the second person on the team to throw the rocks.

Third- The Third is the third person on the team to throw the rocks.

Skip- The Skip is the final person on the team to throw the rocks and is in charge of the teams moves.

These are the basics of curling.

My Experiences

I have only went to two classes, since I was late to join, but it is still fun. We don’t play actual games yet, though, because we are just learning. I actually got some rocks in the house!

Archery

Unfortunately, all I know about archery is that you shoot a bow at a bored that looks like this:

My experiences

I haven’t done archery in about a year, but I remember when we shot balloons and some of them had toonies in them. Those were the good times.

Conclusion

I really enjoy playing these games and I hope that you will play these sports, too because they are so much fun!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I love music. I think it is powerful in a way that you can listen to a song and actually understand what the song writer was trying to say. I also think it is powerful how a song writer can write a piece of music that means a lot to them. In my opinion, if there was no music, there would be no life. I’m not saying that if there was no music we would be all dead or anything like that, but could you imagine not listening to music on your ipod, your computer, or even on the radio? Could you even imagine not having that song stuck in your head? I guess we would never know how good these things were if we didn’t have music, but I wouldn’t want a world with no music. The great thing about music is, though, is that music is free. Anybody can make music and nobody has control over what kind of music you make because it is your creation, like your children (if you have any).

Music has been an important influence in my life. I heard music close to my whole life. My dad plays the guitar, the drums, and even sings. My uncles play guitar and sing, same with my aunt. My aunt is actually teaching me to sing. I haven’t had a lesson in a while, though. Anyway, my cousins are also in a rock band. I never heard them play before, but I’m sure they’re good. As you can see, music is in my blood and I can’t imagine if there wasn’t music.

Introduction

On Wednesday, December 6^th, I went to The Pas with my dad to go get my eyes checked. My dad also wanted to go get the van fixed. I want to tell you guys that I AM GETTING GLASSES!!! I am really excited about it. Here is my story.

Heading There

So we were heading towards The Pas, and we were listening to our SIRIUS satellite radio. We were on channel one, which is new hits. My dad started to get sick of all these songs like “Fergalicious”. Here is what he said “These women have nothing better to talk about”. I chuckled a bit and started to day dream some more. After that, there was nothing else that I remember, only the daydreams in my mind about possibly getting glasses.

We’re Here!

When we arrived, it was about 12:30. We had some time to kill, so we went to Dairy Queen. My dad and I both had the double cheeseburger special. It was one of the most delicious burgers I had ever had! We also had a chocolate milkshake. It was very good.

 After that, we went to an auto parts shop, where my dad got some parts for the garbage truck. I got really bored. When my dad said we could go now, I was very happy. 

After that, we finally went to Family Optical, where I was getting my eyes checked. To my dismay, we were still early, so my dad wanted to go the car shop. I think it was Murray Dunn. Anyways, when we arrived, my dad talked to this guy about the van. Since we didn’t want to walk back to the Family Optical, my dad asked to borrow a car. To our luck, we got it and went to the Family Optical.

I waited in there for about five minutes, then this lady asked me to sit down in a chair, put my chin on the paper in front of my face, and put my forehead against the bar that was also in front of my face. I also had to look through these weird things that almost looked like glasses. I was taking the pre-test. All I was was a farm house getting clear and blurry. After I took the test, I was asked to go in another room and find a seat. I was expecting to go to the doctors office, but instead I went into this big room where I could see a whole lot of glasses. When my dad sat next to me, he told me we were still early, so it would take a long time. When it was finally my time, this lady asks me to follow her into her office. She asked me to sit in a chair. She then gave me all these sorts of tests. She also put a light near my eye. I started to cry, since my eyes were really sensitive. After I took these tests, she told me that I was near sighted and that I needed glasses. When I heard that I was very excited. She also told me that since I had a certain colour of eyes, I was more likely to get some sort of eye cancer. Also, she said not to start smoking and eat my vegetables. Then we left the room to pick the lense of my glasses. I saw my dad and his friend, Carol. They helped my pick out the lense that suits me. It was a long and difficult process, but I finally picked out a pair. I also got a spare lense. Then, I got my lenses fitted. Then the lady said that the glasses would be ready on Monday, today actually. My dad said that we lived in Snow Lake and that we wanted to get it from the bus. The lady then said that they would be in Snow Lake around the 14^th or 15^th. After that, we left the Family Optical.

Then, we went next door to an insurance place, which I didn’t know we were coming to. We went inside and my dad went to talk to a guy. After that, we went to Murray Dunn to get our van so we could leave.

When we got the van back, we went to Burger King and got a meal to go for the family. The burgers smelled so good!!

Heading Home

I found the trip home very boring. All I did was listen to music and daydream. A good thing I remember is that when I looked out of the window, I saw the moon. For a strange reason, it was orange. Then for the rest of the trip I looked at the moon.

I HAD A GOOD TIME IN THE PAS!!

Today, I was supposed to go to The Pas to get my eyes checked. Then at the last minute, I had heard from my father that there was supposed to be a blizzard in The Pas today. So, we didn’t go. My dad is going to book another appointment for Saturday, and I am very happy about it :).

The strange thing is, though, is that I want glasses. I would really like the responsibility of taking care of glasses. Plus, I would want to know how I looked in my own glasses. My parents say I shouldn’t get my hopes up, but that’s kind of too late.

I think I need glasses because ever since grade 6 I have been having trouble seeing the white board. Also, I have been told that I need glasses by some of my closest friends.

Just in case you are wondering, this is why i changed my backround on my blog :lol:. Well, I guess that’s it for now!!
