Global Warming: A Serious Issue
Introduction
Before I talk about a serious issue, I would like to start off with something a little funny. Some viewers may find this offensive, but remember, it’s only a joke.
Now that we’ve had our laughs, it’s time to get serious. Global warming is a serious issue, especially in society today. If you look at the movie trailer for the movie “An Inconvenient Truth”, you will learn that we still can stop global warming before it’s too late.
What is Global Warming?
Global warming is when the Earth gets warmer and warmer. Since the Earth is getting warmer, the polar ice caps are going to melt. When it melts, it creates more water. Eventually, land would be covered in water. Scientists say that the land will start to flood within 50 years.
What is Causing Global Warming?
Global warming is being caused by greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases consist of pollution from vehicles and factories. Since there are so many greenhouse gases, the ones in the atmosphere are blocking the ones that are coming out, making the Earth warmer.
The hole in the ozone layer doesn’t help much either. The rays from the sun go through the hole, and since the greenhouse gases block the sun’s rays, the rays can’t get out, causing the Earth to get warmer.
What Can We Do?
There are many things we can do,but we would have to work as a globe, kind of like a team. In fact, exactly like a team. Here are some things that I think we could do to at least control global warming

Use less fossil fuels

Use solar energy
-
Don’t burn coal
-
Don’t use factories
-
Try to use hybrid vehicle technologies
There are many other things that we could do to try to stop global warming from happening. For example, people could educate others on global warming and how we could stop it.

Nice post on global warming! I did one on global warming as well. This post is really well done! You explained global warming really well and ways we could prevent it from happening. I put facts on my post, but I didn’t think about writing about ways to stop it. That’s a really good idea. Some people don’t believe that global warming will happen, which really makes me mad, but oh well. It will happen though if we don’t find ways to prevent it. Hopefully soon people will get the message that global warming will happen if we don’t find ways to prevent it, and maybe try and stop it. At least the world would be much better and we’d save more people.

Hi Derek,
I think this is a great post. Your writing about his and how it is explained do well will help others realize that don’t already know to consider this as a huge crisis and you explain everything clearly and understandable. Another crises we should consider which I’ve being looking at is the Codfish almost being whipped out, because of over fishing them. To think that when the Europeans first came they slowed down the ships because there were so many of them and know we don’t have even enough for us to catch and eat and lets not forget the whales that eat them too and to make matters worse there population has gone up since we’ve stopped hunting them. So these are some things that we all should consider as a world. So the people that read your post might think of what they could do to help stop some of these world issues.

Hi Derek!
First of all, I’d like to congratulate you on another great post. That first picture really attracted my attention, and I’m still laughing from it!
Secondly, I think it’s great that you are posting about a very serious issue. Global warming is a big issue that really needs some urgent attention. I agree with you. People need to take action now before it’s too late. Everyone needs to do their part to help fix this problem, and like you said, it is like being in a team. I know that lately I have been more aware of this issue, and I have been focusing on a few things that should help. Some of the things that I have been doing are:
* Recycling
* Saving electricity
* Saying no to plastic bags
Hopefully, by working on these things, I will help to reduce Global Warming, and I hope I encourage others to do the same.
It’s great that you have made people aware of this important issue by posting it on a blog, which I have done as well. Hopefully people will wake up to what is happening to our earth, and we can all work on this together.

PS. The picture of dear old President Bush was very very funny. They come up with some great stuff about him. I was watching something just last night and there’s an Australian comedian, Will Anderson. He did some really funny stuff.

Hi Derek,
Global warming is a serious issue and I am surprised of many people are oblivious about it. I think when the whole world realises how serious this issue is, maybe something can be done. So for now we can spread the knowledge.
BTW, I really liked the way you explained it, very clear and simple.

Your picture of Ralph and Bush are funny. I also like the way you spoke about trying to prevent Global Warning from getting worse.
